'Alquimia Rítmica/Rhythmic Alchemy', curado por Vladimir Mejia

Una exposición de arte sonoro en línea.

Una gota de lluvia por sí sola hace un *ploc* pero dentro de una tormenta puedes apreciar el momento en que el sonido se convierte en ritmo. Muchos pasan su tiempo descubriendo, creando y manipulando ruidos para expresar emociones, como la felicidad, pero también liberarse de sentimientos como el dolor y la ira. El cuerpo se puede usar como un instrumento musical. Puedes gritar, aplaudir, zapatear, golpear un escritorio, tocar un instrumento, tomar muestras o transformar los sonidos a través de una cacofonía de filtros. El ruido puede ser una terapia.


A través del trabajo de los artistas Eleanor Moore (Dr. Evilletown), Gustavo Obligado, Hiba Ali, Jessica Fuquay, Jorge Luis Pablo Tantavilca, Lucy Maude, Marlon Hedrick, Luciano Piccilli y Pedro Carneiro Silva, el espectáculo se manifestará en lo que llamamos un 'Joy Ride Mixtape'. El público tendrá la opción de experimentar el trabajo a través de una lista de reproducción digital o podrá descargar el trabajo sonoro y grabarlo en un CD, descargarlo en un reproductor digital o incluso copiar casetes. Alentamos a los oyentes a caminar, conducir, andar en bicicleta y dejar que el sonido realice una alquimia mientras se mueven por el espacio.

An online sound art exhibition.

A raindrop alone makes a *plop*, but within a storm, one can hear the moment where sound becomes rhythm. We spend time discovering, creating and manipulating noises to express emotions from happiness to grief and everything in between. The body can play and be used as a musical tool. You can yell, clap your hands, stomp your feet, bang a desk, pick away at an instrument, sample and transform any sound through a cacophony of filters. Noise can be therapy.

Through the work of artists Eleanor Moore (Dr. Evilletown), Gustavo Obligado, Hiba Ali, Jessica Fuquay, Jorge Luis Pablo Tantavilca, Lucy Maude, Marlon Hedrick, Luciano Piccilli, and Pedro Carneiro Silva the show will manifest itself in what we call a ‘Joy Ride Mixtape’. The audience will get the option to experience the work through a digital playlist or they will be free to download the soundworks and burn it to a CD, download to a digital player, or even dub cassettes. We encourage listeners to take walks, take a drive, ride a bike and let the sound perform alchemy as they move through space.
